Francesco Aldi is a very talented tennis player with quick legs. He can vary his game well and has many technical solutions to beat his opponents. Francesco plays well on slow and on quick surfaces. His favourite shot is the backhand and his favourite surface is clay. Francesco comes from Palermo, Sicily and he is coached by former Italian junior champion Francesco Cinà.
Francesco started to play tennis when he was 7 years old. He admired Stefan Edberg and his serve-and-volley, when he was growing up. He likes soccer and is a fan of AC Milan and Palermo. His nickname is Topolino (Mickey Mouse).
In 2005 Francesco played the final of the San Remo Challenger and won the doubles final of that tournament with his partner Tomas Tenconi. In 2004 he reached the finals of the Challengers of Trani, Manerbio and Rome, all in Italy. His current ranking is around the 120th position. From now on Francesco will mainly compete in ATP tour events, with the intention of entering the top 100 until the end of 2005.
