I am Alessio Di Mauro, I was born in Siracusa, on the 9th of August 1977. I play tennis since the age of 6, following the good example of my older brothers Germano e Fabio (ex first category players). Since the beginning I was always encouraged by my father Salvatore and my mother Fernanda. After having trained with my coach Leonardo Panarello, I moved to Palermo to my brother Germano who already worked as a coach; from him I received precious teaching regarding both sports and life. Since 1996 my coach is Fabio Rizzo. With him I have developed a professional relation based on mutual esteem and close friendship. When I travel to tournaments I also try to bring my girlfriend Susanna and my friend Federico Rando, who is a tennis teacher. I play mostly on red clay and I perform very well in a warm summer climate. I am a fan of Juventus and whenever possible I go to their matches. I can’t imagine my life without tennis. If I had not succeeded in becoming a pro I would have surely remained in tennis because of the strong passion I feel for my sport.
