Potito's golden week |
 |
Potito Starace has just ended the best week of his career in the Austrian Alps. At the 650.000$ tournament of Kitzbühel, he reached the final in singles and won the doubles event with Luis Horna.
It was a thriller week, and Potito had to come back from set and match points down against both Mayer and Seppi. Even against Augustin Calleri, in the semifinal he had to face a set point for the Argentinan in the second set, but finally closed the match 6-4 7-5.
In the final s against Juan Monaco Potito probably paid for all the efforts of the week. After two spectacular sets 7-5 3-6, Potito's physical shape worsened, and Monaco broke int the seventh game to close 6-4.

Starace’s match against Federer was excellent during the first two sets. In the third set, Federer dominated a disappointed Potito. Oscar played a fantastic match against no. 28 seed Kohlschreiber on thursday, but he had to give way on saturday against Bjorkman, who played a smart aggressive tennis based on his excellent returns of serve.
