It was a very important match. It was the first time I showed Top 10 level tennis and it was very important to become aware that I am able to play on a Top 10 level. It gave me a lot of confidence. Granollers revenges Starace Marcel Granollers and his partner Pablo Cuevas have won the ATP 250 doubles tournament of Costa do Sauipe, Brazil. In the finals they upset Lukasz Kubot and Oliver Marach 7-6, 6-4. The top seeds Kubot-Marach had won the last week title in Santiago, defeating Starace-Zeballos. Marcel is back on his careers best ranking: number 21. Cuevas-Granollers will be the top seeds at this weeks Copa Telmex in Buenos Aires. (click for more)
Granollers surprises Soderling Australian Open, Melbourne. Marcel Granollers has accomplished the best comeback of his career to beat World’s No.8 Soderling in five sets: 5-7, 2-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-2. Soderling found himself serving on 3-1 in the fourth set, but from that point on, Marcel managed to raise the level, gave no points away and dominated to close the match. Great start for Top Seed players Viktor Troicki reached the semi final of the 1 million dollar ATP event of Doha, Quatar. In the quarter final Viktor played an unbelievable match against Lucas Kubot, in which he came back from 2-5 in the third set, to win 7-6. Only the best Rafael Nadal could stop Viktor in the semi final. The Spaniards Marcel Granollers and Santiago Ventura won their first ATP tour doubles title together at the Chennai Open. The second seeds defeated Yen-Hsun Lu and Janko Tipsarevic 7-5, 6-2 in the final (click for more)
