Oscar Hernandez wins Braunschweig Challenger for third time July 6th, 2009 After wins in 2005 and 2007, Oscar Hernandez did it again in 2009: he won the 150.000 $ Challenger of Braunschweig. In the semi final Oscar defeated Florian Mayer, who retired at 6-4, 5-0. On Sunday Oscar upset Temuiraz Gabashvili in the final in three sets: 6-1, 3-6, 6-4. Oscar takes a giant step forward on the ATP ranking, moving to no. 54, just 6 spots away from his career best ranking of 48. (click for more)
