Bonjour I’m Julien Varlet, I’m French, I was born on the 9th of September 1977 in Cambrai, in northern France. At present I live in Paris, in a little apartment that I love. I practice at the Roland Garros stadium, and at the moment I travel alone to the tournaments. Climbing the rankings has been quite hard for me. I got stuck for 2-3 years between 300 and 400 in the world, until last year when I started playing not bad at all. My dream is to play one day the Davis Cup finals for France, or to play in the finals of the Olympic games. Apart from tennis I like almost every sport, and I adore watching people race, no matter how, in cars, or on skis, as long as they go fast I love it. I’m a quite happy boy, and I don’t need much to be happy… Give me a beach and a glass of ice-cold beer, maybe a sunset or a soccer match on TV…and I’m completely happy! Oh, I forgot! I need some friends, of course! My life is not made of tennis only; I keep myself informed about politics, terrorism (unluckily, since September 11th) and economy. I also like to compare the different mentalities of the people in all the countries I travel to. It’s really funny and I think I’ve learned a lot from it. Well, you know my life now….
