-          in doubles he won the ATP Tour event of Gstaad, with fellow countryman Michael Lammer,
      defeating Levinsky/Polasek: 7-5, 6-3
-          with his partner Andreas Beck, he reached the final of the ATP Tour event of Halle, loosing to
      Kas/ Kohlschreiber: 6-4, 6-3
-          in 2007 Marco won first round Davis Cup matches over Spain’s Verdasco and Ferrer
-          in 2006 Marco reached the third round at the US Open, beating Feliciano Lopez in the second
      round and loosing to Gasquet
-          in 2005 he made his Davis Cup debut against The Netherlands
-          in 2004 he won his first Challenger in Donetsk, Ukraine


Personal
Marco Chiudinelli was born in Basel, Switzerland, on September 10th, 1981.
His parents, Lorenzo and Reni are both Information Technology specialists. Marco suffered a lot from injuries on his right shoulder (2006) and his left knee (2007 and 2008), which kept him out for 8/ 9 months each of these three years. Luckily in 2009 he could finally play without injuries and became right away ATP Comeback Player of the Year. Marco considers as his strengths his serve and baseline play and hard court as his favourite surface.

He speaks German, English and French. He is a big fan of the soccer team FC Basel and listens to a variety of rock bands, like: Iron Maiden, Metallica, Coldplay and Led Zeppelin. The player he admired growing up was Ivan Lendl. Marco is coached by Jan de Witt, at the Gerry Weber Break Point Academy in Halle, Germany, where he is joined by Viktor Troicki.
